June 27-29, 2014 is the Biggest Moving Weekend of the Year
Moving, as you might guess, is a bit of a seasonal business. Most moves take place when it’s relatively convenient for the home or business owner. There are very few people trying to move at 3am on a random snowy January Thursday. It’s much easier to wait until it’s warmer and the kids are out of school.

I can’t wait to move on Christmas!
It’s also true that more homes are sold in warmer months than cooler months. The National Association of Realtors reported that in 2013, 58% of home sales happened between April and August.
When you combine home sales with the end of the school year and toss in warm weather, you have the perfect recipe for Moovapolooza. This year, movers are reporting that the biggest moving weekend on the year is coming up next week, June 27-29.
What does this mean for you? If you’re not moving anywhere then you get to stay home and not move. Just make sure you don’t spontaneously get up and start to put stuff in a truck and you’re good.

That previous joke was brought to you by Mitch Hedberg.
If you are moving and already have a Moving Company booked to help you, you’re in good shape too.
If you need a moving company, you might be in some trouble. For one thing, we’re about a week away from moving day, so you’re pushing it regardless. Check with us and a few other moving companies. There’s always a chance there will be a cancellation.
